The Squirrel has Landed

So here it is, my first little movie. The animation is pretty dodgy but hey, it's my first go.

If you think it relates to a personal story of some kind, like maybe, I dunno, my ex... you could be on to something! I certainly feel better for making it though I haven't shown it to her. I don't like making girls cry.

Thanks Evil Wombat Queen for the embedding tip, it doesn't display correctly for some reason and crops some content off the right of the frame.  So if you like you can view it on my website in it's full, uncropped glory.

Great animation! Really nice work.

I love the look of the squirrel and the music and font you've chosen are perfect for the task.

Incidentally, you can embed Flash files into your blog if you volunteer to be a Beta tester (embedding objects is still at Beta stage). Just go to 'Account' then click on 'Your account'. If you scroll down you'll see a check box to volunteer to be a Beta tester. Then when you compose a post you'll see the option to embed an object - just paste the necessary HTML and it'll appear (I've found you can't use JavaScript, though, which I normally use for IE workarounds). I'm not sure if you can upload the swf file itself to Vox, I just upload it to my personal host and use the URL to load it up on my blog. Good luck!

only somewhat aggravation is the auto playing of the music whenever the movie loads-- in "my neighborhood" listing or individually or whatever-- and no way to turn it off.

but very cute and poignant. brava.

Yea, I was gonna say it would be really cool if we could turn the music off. I didn't know where it was coming from! But the movie is very cute, I'm impressed.

Oops. Sorry. I should have warned you about that. The first Flash object I embedded was a game with a really really really annoying music loop that never ended. It even annoyed the living crap out of me and I was the one who built the damn thing. Yep. Play buttons are vital for any Flash stuff on Vox!
