I have much excitement over my recent concert ticket purchases. On December 11th we have The Gossip (Beth Ditto you are my homogrrl!) and on the 13th the lovely Tegan and Sara... mmm double lezzo goodness!

The music on the site sounds a lot like múm, from Iceland. I bought an EP of theirs when I was over there in 2001... 'Yesterday was Dramatic -Today is OK'; great title! I really like it and will get some more of their music when I join the digital revolution.

Big congratulations to Youth Group who picked up an ARIA last night for Best Breakthrough Artist (single) for 'Forever Young'. It's quite a statement on the Australian Music Industry as a whole that a band can still be 'breakthrough' after 9 years of hard slog and little but well deserved critical acclaim. I mean, what's an Aussie group gotta do to get noticed in their own country?! Make a cover of an obscure German eurotrash song that gets picked up by some American show with yet more emaciated women than you can poke a stick at, have it played to death on commercial radio so that even those that enjoyed the subtle and haunting rendition finally had to end it all after hearing that song one to many times and probably never go and buy the whole album and therefore not realise what a truly amazing, mature and completely beautiful work it is. Um, yeah.
Nice one guys, you deserve it.
